Jonathan Baker, the founder of eqpd, is a strong advocate for regional manufacturing and uses his background in art and design to create new products and business models. His current project, eqpd, based in Twisp, WA uses "the principles of Industrial Design to reduce our environmental impact and restore regional manufacturing". Their LastBag is locally made, guaranteed for life and aims to reduce the careless and excessive damage caused by single-use paper and plastic bags. "We set out to create a product that was reliable and easy to use, so you would never forget it and use it everyday, for any activity".
Your purchase today is part of eqpd's "Built-for-a-Purpose" campaign, where we donate the entire retail profit to support the Greater Wenatchee Area Technology Alliance -GWATA- Scholarship Fund. This fund is awarded every year and goes to deserving individuals who excel in the field, classroom or community to progress the STEM principles (science, technology, engineering and math). Both GWATA and eqpd thank you for your support. Because of you, a motivated and thoughtful person gets rewarded and hardworking local manufacturing keeps working.
About the eqpd LastBag:
The LastBag is designed as a lifetime product. Reliable, practical and easy to use. Carry the heaviest of loads with just one handle, set down onto muddy ground and clean with a garden hose. Our 18oz. fabric is most commonly used as truck tarps and whitewater rafts and is highly durable, absolutely waterproof, UV stable and bleach safe. The seamless folded bottom and exposed side seams allow the bag to stand upright and open. The reinforced handle is padded and easy to grab. Fold flat like a paper bag to store in your luggage, car, closet or backpack. Built for versatility, our LastBags are used for everything from groceries and boating, to trail-building and construction sites. Its utilitarian design works for both men and women, young and old, from the city to the country. The black version shown in the video is our Heavy Duty, 22oz fabric and is currently being tested as a "better 5 gallon bucket" by the Evergreen trail crew.
